Transfer your domain from SiteGround to UpperLevel Hosting

Transferring a domain away from SiteGround involves a few steps. You may find it easier to call them and as that:

  1. Your domain be unlocked.

  2. All privacy be removed from the domain.

  3. That they send you the Authorization Code (EPP Code).

  4. Initiate the Transfer with the UpperLevel Hosting:

    • On the UpperLevel Hosting website type your domain into the Begin your search for the perfect domain name... search box. Click the grey Transfer button. During the domain transfer process with UpperLevel Hosting, you will be prompted to enter the authorization code you received from SiteGround. Follow UpperLevel Hosting's instructions for initiating the transfer.

Otherwise here are the general steps you should follow:

  1. Unlock your Domain:

    • Log in to your SiteGround account.
    • Go to the "My Accounts" section.
    • Select "Manage Domains" or a similar option depending on your SiteGround dashboard.
    • Find the domain you want to transfer and click on it.
    • Look for an option to "Unlock" or "Disable Registrar Lock." This ensures that the domain can be transferred to another registrar.
  2. Obtain the Authorization Code (EPP Code):

    • While still in the domain management section, find an option that provides you with the EPP (Extensible Provisioning Protocol) code or authorization code for the domain. This code is required by your new registrar to initiate the transfer.
  3. Confirm Contact Information:

    • Make sure that your contact information (email address) associated with the domain is up to date. You'll receive important notifications regarding the transfer process via email.
  4. Disable Privacy Protection (if applicable):

    • If you have privacy protection (WHOIS protection) enabled for your domain, you may need to disable it. This can usually be done from the same domain management section.
  5. Initiate the Transfer with the UpperLevel Hosting:

    • On the UpperLevel Hosting website type your domain into the Begin your search for the perfect domain name... search box. Click the grey Transfer button. During the domain transfer process with UpperLevel Hosting, you will be prompted to enter the authorization code you received from SiteGround. Follow UpperLevel Hosting's instructions for initiating the transfer.
  6. Confirm the Transfer:

    • After you've initiated the transfer with the UpperLevel Hosting, you'll receive emails from both SiteGround and UpperLevel Hosting regarding the transfer.
    • You may need to confirm the transfer through an email link or code provided by your new registrar.
